      According to the Karelian-Finnish epos «Kalevala», Sampo is a magic mill of happiness. In Kalevala, you can find the following lines:

      Quick the artist of Wainola
      Forges with the tongs and anvil,
      Knocking with a heavy hammer,
      Forges skilfully the Sampo;
      On one side the flour is grinding,
      On another salt is making,
      On a third is money forging,
      And the lid is many-colored.
(Kalevala 10: 409–416)

      A variety of Sampo's mission predetermined a wide range of interests of the website SampoDialogi. On our web pages, it is possible to read about Finno-Ugric culture, art, and traditions.
